Character list for a 'behind the scenes' look:
PRIMARY CHARACTERS:
Kira: Lead in the book. Story revolves around her.
Elspeth: Youngest sister in family - stays with Kira throughout adventure and has a pet fox (Onnie) that helps to guide them.
Dane: Young dragon knight and brother to Kira and Elspeth. He has his own adventure before the stories join together.
Shanks-Spar: Young dragon night and best friend of Dane. Betrays his post to save his friend.
Paradon: Dyslexic Wizard. Good heart, rotten powers. Gives sanctuary and guidance to Kira and Elspeth and teaches them how to train their blue dragon, Jinx.
Lord Dorcon: Evil lead in the story. The obsessed knight is determined to capture and punish Kira and Elspeth for daring to defy First Law and for running away from him.
SECONDARY CHARACTERS:
Kira's Parents: Father gets killed by Lord Dorcon. Mother is trapped at the palace working as a slave to King Arden.
The Instructor: Helps to guide and teach dragon knights. Becomes ally to Dane and Shanks.
Tobias: Young dragon knight and friend to Dane and Shanks.
King Arden: Cruel, greedy king. Is only spoken about in this story but is a driving force behind Kira and Elspeth.
Marcus: Old, wounded dragon knight who becomes friends with Dane and Shanks and gives his life for them.
Kahrin: Sister to Kira, Elspeth and Dane. Has been imprisoned and starved at Lasser Commons.
DRAGONS:
The Rogue: Largest and most fearsome dragon in the kingdom. Once a war dragon, he escaped and lives wild in the mountains - terrorising and eating anyone who goes there.
Jinx: The offspring of Rogue and Blue, Jinx is the young dragon raised by Kira and Elspeth and is fiercely loyal to them.
Blue: Another escaped war dragon - Female and mate to the Rogue.
