Draw a Guardian: Sentinels Squirrel Art Contest

Who can enter: Kids ages 17 and under (one entry per person)

How to enter:

1. Draw your own squirrel guardian (hand-drawn only)
2. Size: Max 8.5 x 11 inches
3. Format: PDF, JPEG, or DOC
4. Submit by October 18, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET at https://bit.ly/4zc5YC1
5. A parent or guardian must provide their email

What you’re drawing:
Your own original squirrel character. Tell us their name, power, and what they protect (optional—100 words max).

Prizes:

• Grand Prize: Signed copy of Sentinels + signed photo of Kate + you get to name a squirrel guardian in Book 3
• 2nd Place: 2nd Forest Keeper Badge + signed photo of Kate + your artwork featured on our live event (Oct 24) and social media
• 3rd Place: 3rd Forest Keeper Badge + signed photo of Kate + your artwork featured on our live event and social media

Important:

• Your drawing must be your own original work
• We’ll announce winners on October 24, 2026 at 2:00 PM ET
• If you win, we may share your art on social media and our website
• Kate or her team will contact the parent email you provide if you win

The Caterpillar and the Blackbird – book launch and show dates.

If The Caterpillar and the Blackbird musical is playing at a theatre near you, I do hope you come along to say hello. We are adding new dates all the time, so be sure to check in here, or on our show website:  www.narradance.com

Here are our current shows: For now, this is only in England.

1. The De La Warr Pavilion Theatre, Bexhill – Wednesday 28th  August 12:30 & 3:30
2. The Stag Theatre, Sevenoaks – Friday 30th & Saturday 31st August – Times pending

We are also holding book launches for the picture book at these theatres. So the dates for this book signings are:

1. The De La Warr Pavilion Theatre, Bexhill – Saturday 18th May & 6th July – 11:00am until 3:00pm.
2. The Stag Theatre, Sevenoaks – Saturday 25th May & 20th July  – 10:00am until 3:00pm

I don’t have to tell you how much Covid has impacted all our lives – and I’m no different.

So my events calendar is a bit sparse. In fact, I don’t have anything scheduled for this year yet. But I am hoping to really get going with school visits.

PEGASUS flies into Chiltern Open Air Museum!

Join me and ‘Pegs’ on May 17th starting at 6:30pm, at the Chiltern Open Air Museum

This promises to be a night of magic, myth and mayhem!  With more than a few monsters and surprises around every corner!

• Meet international bestselling author Kate O’Hearn, best known for the Pegasus series
• Explore the Museum’s collection of historic buildings at night, lit up by candles and lanterns.  Meet famous mythological characters and take part in family activities.
• Children’s fancy dress competition for the best mythological character costume
• Enjoy enchanted crafts
• Take part in a Knights School and other family activities during the evening
• Refreshments on the Village Green, including Pimms, local Chiltern beer, and (non-alcoholic) fruit punch!
